Powerful Practices To Improve The Workplace Culture Of Your Business

Did you know that 88% of job seekers feel workplace culture is necessary for a successful business? Each employee adds new beliefs and values and creates a shared workplace culture. When you and your employees have trust and transparency, and a shared set of goals and visions, your company will function more smoothly. If you are looking to start your own business in Brisbane, Australia and need some in-workplace culture tips, here are a few to help you out:

1.     Pay Attention To Your Employees

Over 75 % of employees will stay longer at a company where the management pays attention to them. Therefore you must actively sit with your employees and listen to what issues they might be facing. Constant discussions will create a more personal connection and make your employees feel more involved with your company.

2.     State Your Goals

One of the primary things that drive workplace culture and make employees feel more engaged is stating your goals. According to a survey, 51 % of employees were more engaged and involved in a company where the goals and mission were visible. You must make your future visions for the company visible as well as remind your employees constantly of your company goals and values.

3.     Encourage Communication

Around 86% of employees felt that lack of communication in a company leads to failure and inefficiency. Thus, as a manager, you must actively encourage your employees to interact with each other so they feel like they are a part of a team. You must hold group meetings where members of different teams can meet and share their ideas and visions.

4.     Create Trust And Transparency

A study by Forbes revealed that transparency and trust were the main factors determining workplace culture. If you are not transparent with your team about your plans at the corporate level, then this will lead to a culture of mistrust and secrecy. Thus, you must explain your every move to your employees and be open with your target customers.

5.     Be A Strong Leader

As a leader, you must constantly develop new and innovative strategies and plans and keep your creative juices flowing. This will inspire your employees and motivate them to keep going as well. A study found that 89% of employees their leaders supported were more successful. Therefore you must constantly help and motivate your team and be a strong leader.

How To Boost Repeat Sales With Effective Loyalty Management

 Hello all,

Entrepreneurs are always looking for higher sales. However, they do not have the budget to market the products in new areas to get new customers. Thus, they utilise the customer database to make way for more sales. Existing customers are easier to persuade to purchase more by offering a discount or free gift. There are several ways of keeping them engaged with the brand by sending communication about new offers and product information. I addition, listening to their needs and making changes accordingly plays a vital role in making them loyal buyers. If you too need loyal customers for your business, here is an article that will help you get them.

Gold Coast Business Week: The 2030 business trends playing out in the 2020s

The pandemic has brought the future forward by a full decade, and businesses that aren’t ready for it could be left behind, according to futurist Michael McQueen.

From the emergence of artificial intelligence and changes in the way labour markets operate, McQueen believes the 2030s are effectively playing out in the 2020s and this will deliver radical game-changing shifts to the economy over the next few years.

Addressing the opening event at Gold Coast Business Week, a business breakfast hosted by the City of Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise, McQueen said the biggest shift was already upon us with Millennials getting older and Generation Z set to take over as the dominant demographic in the work force. They are also an emerging well-heeled consumer group that can’t be ignored.

Queensland taxpayers foot $2 million bill for inner-west Brisbane school planning

The Queensland government has spent $2 million planning a new primary school in inner-west Brisbane but after five years and two identified sites, the school’s location is still in doubt.

The Palaszczuk government announced in 2020 that it would build the school for $65 million to open by 2023. It is now budgeted to cost $90 million and open in 2024.

Following strong community opposition to the government's latest preferred location at the former Toowong Bowls Club site, Greens MP Michael Berkman revealed the government was reconsidering the location last week.

Collection House calls in administrators: Was Volt collapse the spark?

A recapitalisation plan has failed to save debt collector Collection House (ASX: CLH) after it languished for two years in COVID-induced doldrums and a weak national economic situation, with the company today announcing it has appointed administrators.

The Brisbane-based company today requested its securities be suspended from trading on the ASX and has appointed FTI Consulting as voluntary administrators who now have the ironic task of protecting Collection House from creditors chasing up debts of their own.

CLH said the decision came after “exhaustive attempts to restructure the business and raise additional funding were unsuccessful”. This included multiple divestments of assets including its debt ledger book to Credit Corp Group (ASX: CCP).

10 Simple Ways Businesses Can Cut Energy Costs

 Hi there,

I do not have much knowledge about energy saving but recently I was introduced to improving energy efficiency in my workplace. I was astounded by the impact of using energy efficient appliances and lighting in the office. I have been amazed by the things that can be done to reduce dependency on electricity. I have decided that I will get a solar panel for my office, which will help me to power up the whole building at a much lesser cost. Besides solar panel, we will be using more natural light and ventilation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It has been an eye-opening experience. To know more about this, do read the article shared below.
